It has several small dents but still wears all original paint and has no sign of any previous body damage. It has some surface rust from the years but no serious rust problems. This is a very good running dependable pickup. Would recommend replacing before any long trips. Valve cover gasket Fan Belt (I have one just not installed yet) Probably needs a tune up ( I have new plugs for it) Needs a steering shaft installed (I have one just not installed yet) The play in the steering is minimal. Heat works very wellNew water pump within the last year. Back tires have about 3000 miles on them. Has approximately 170,000 miles Instrument cluster has been upgraded to gauges and tach version. Brakes, pads, rotors, steering knuckle have been replaced within the last year. Has front axle for converting to 4 wheel drive Front end has had all new bushings, bearings, ball joints and new tie rods replaced within the last year. 4.0L inline 6 cylinder engine Automatic transmission 2 wheel drive. It would make a great platform for a lifted mud toy or restoration project. I opted not to complete the conversion to keep the price down and leave it's new owner more options. I had intended to convert it over to 4wd. It only started at about $7,049 and was designed to compete against rival compact trucks, like the Toyota Hilux.1989 Jeep Comanche This was my daily driver until I needed a heavier duty vehicle for towing. The jeep Comanche came out in 1985 and was based on the Jeep Cherokee. You could get the scrambler with hardtop and soft top variants too. You could upgrade to the inline-six engine for 110 hp. This truck was fitted to a CJ chassis and came with a four-cylinder engine with 82 hp. ![]() Scrambler comes from a package that offered graphics and unique wheels to provide an 80’s feel, but it didn’t catch on and was discontinued in 1986. The Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler was introduced in 1981. The new Jeepster Beach concept has our hopes up for the return of compact Jeep truck options.
