She married William Schmidt on Novemin Livingston County, IL. Schmidt was born Novemin Romeo, MI the daughter of Dan and Bessie Bollier Yoder. The family suggests memorials be given to the Forrest United Methodist Church or Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury. Visitation will be 10:00 – 10:45am Thursday also at the memorial home. Burial will be in the North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Forrest. Her funeral will be 11:00 am Thursday, Januat Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Roosevelt Smith officiating. Laverna was a wonderful, kind and giving Mother, Grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. ![]() She was preceded in passing by husband Don, son Jack, and daughter, Carla. She has 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Laverna is survived by her sisters, Marian (George) Enyeart, and Myrna (John) Harrison her children Dennis (Denise) Cobb, and Marge Cobb Luker. The family thanks the staff for their loving care of Laverna while she was there. Laverna and Don lived out their last years in Bothell, at the Chateau. She and Don happily traveled most of the US, and to 18 different countries before settling down. Laverna spent 10 enjoyable years working at UW School of Fisheries before her retirement. She was constantly involved in school, sports, boy scouts & girl scouts and marching group. There were many weddings, funerals, church services and choir practice always on the calendar. Laverna played the piano and organ during the 1950's - 1960's at Queen Anne Christian Church, in Seattle. ![]() Their family grew each year, and she was very busy raising 4 children, together with Don. She met her future husband, Don, at church camp in Seabeck, WA around that time. Her family moved to Marysville, WA as she was a senior in high school, and had graduated in Vancouver. She was born on March 31, 1929, Easter Sunday in Vancouver, WA. Laverna Cobb, 92 of Bothell, WA passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022. ![]()
